Nu Species, Nu Womb

Hold the place on your body where your womb is or would be. We all have an energetic womb, it’s called our sacral chakra. Our relationship with our womb regulates our relationship to pleasure and guilt. The sacral chakra also rules creativity. Creation opens our propensity for pleasure. Pain, past or present, traps us in guilt, as if pain is our fault, stifling our ability to create as if we do not all have the inborn right to bring beauty into this world. We have everything we need within us to create the world we imagine, the world we neglect due to the pressures the society puts on us. What if I told you that your anxiety is not you, it’s the weight of fear, shame, and guilt that the powers that be control us with. What if I told you that your depression is not you, it’s the only logical biological response to a system that makes no sense to the body, mind, or soul. The divine feminine is our innate intuition, the energy that moves within us when we get that gut feeling or hairs raising on the back of our neck. The divine masculine is our inherent potential, the energy that moves our vessels to act and create in relationship with our intuition. Creation without intuition looks like beige office complexes and concrete jungles. Creation with intuition is inexplicable, enchanting, inspiring. Creation that does not inspire creation is destruction. The patriarchy that stifles the divine feminine is a force of destruction. And look at what it has done to us. We don’t know who we are anymore. We associate femininity with our domesticated mothers and masculinity with our oppressive fathers. What if we knew femininity not as dresses and makeup but as intuition and creation, what if we knew masculinity not as violent and controlling but as empowering and activating?
